I love the simplicity of "The List" - my wishlist has turned into a multi-tab Notion database (which I LOVE but maybe I'm overcomplicating it...). I also totally get the whole boxer shorts thing too - maybe the rest of my wardrobe is just too casual to support it because I too just end up looking like I wore my pyjamas out of the house...
In totality, my system is THE LIST (where general wants are distilled) and a Pinterest board (where any specific thing that tickles my fancy gets parked). I use Notion for other (work) stuff, but find it too hard to access on mobile to be as useful for casual stuff.

Second: I am so with you on the boxers/pajama bottoms trend. I’ve had them on my wishlist, almost bought a few pairs at the thrift store, but frankly couldn’t conceptualize how I would wear them without looking like I was wearing pajama bottoms—a tough ask, because I would be, in fact, wearing pajama bottoms.
And finally, the silk maxi skirt. Again, I know EXACTLY what you mean about that ubiquitous calf length—that’s NOT a maxi, that’s a midi, babes. And you were right to return it because of the poor construction. I’m just starting to learn that “do not buy a problem” lesson myself.
I hear you re your dream item not working in real life. I have a lavender greyish silk maxi skirt in my wardrobe that I regret not returning when I first got it… I wanted it to work so badly, but every outfit I try to style feels wrong so I still haven’t worn it. Not to try and change your mind, but I just have to mention that those Cos barrelleg cotton trousers are favourites in my wardrobe and I keep checking if the green ones are back in stock so I can get my third pair. Also, the non turnup grey Facade jeans… 👌🏻😂
This resonated with me so much Devon! I’m very tough on what gets to stay and I too have found adding the item to my wardrobe virtually in indyx is a real show and tell moment. I really wanted to add red trainers to my armoury this season but the few I tried just didn’t gel with the rest of my muted wardrobe! x
